System Rom Down

My DVD rom is down recently, giving me a hard time when I want to watch movies and install software. I did check the device manager, it said the installation of the hardware device is complete but the hardware device cannot be detected. I just skim thru some dicussion forum about the same problem. Some people suggest to check BIOS, whether or not the device has been deattached or disabled. Well, I will check it out later. Virus or worm infection is probably another source of the problem. Anyway, hope that I can fix it soon hehehe...
